JS1 Special Hard Wearing – Does what it says on the tin. A hardwearing, fast establishing mix that becomes green very quickly. The quicker establishing seeds provide a nurse crop for the strong root network to establish and the SSMG to grow. This means you get ‘quick’ green which allows the slower growing seeds to establish therefore making the lawn extremely hard wearing and resilient. The deep root system makes this mix extremely hard wearing as it creates a strong base and tight sward. Maintaing a visually appealing green colour all year round this lawn is tough yet attractive. A good mix for areas that receive a lot of foot traffic or children playing. Can also with stand being cut to 15mm.

To create a tough green lawn that looks good all year round, even if it has to stand up to constant foot traffic or carpet a busy playground, our special hardwearing grass seed mixture is what you need.
The secret of the strength of this grass is in the mix of different perennial ryegrasses, which germinate and become green quickly, acting as a nurse crop to protect the other more slow-growing seeds in the mix – smooth meadow grass (SSMG) – to establish and flourish.
The SSMG establishes a strong and deep root system that grows vertically and laterally, which makes the lawn extremely hard wearing and resilient. With a strong base and tight sward this child and pet-friendly grass will put up with a lot while maintaining its green colour and attractive appearance all year round.
You can mow this grass down to 15mm, and sow the seed at between 25g to 40g a square metre.
